Ode to Naptime

Scorned in childhood,
Oft-maligned and put aside
Feigned in college, aided by drink
Or study sessions past the midnight hour

Now in motherhood,
Finally returning to my senses
And watching the clock
Tick
Tock
Down
Till
Noon

And if he sleeps,
Then all is well
And sometimes
I'll sleep
Too

  1. Jenny, I love this.
One of these days...sleep will come, yes?
A simple little ol' wish for me too :)

  2. Ah! Love this! Sometimes I'll fake that I'm napping so my non-napping aged kids will leave me alone for a while.
    Shhhhhhh, Mom's sleeeeeping....
    Hehe

Thanks for posting your link on the FOCUS wives group! I'm a total blog junkie and can't wait to read more of yours.

And PS - your "about me" on the side there is excellent. :-)
