  2. Wow! You are an incredible woman of strength and character and you are so REAL! Thank you for writing. I am so inspired and I can relate on soo many levels (Catholicism, big fam, nfp, coffee, JPII,etc). God bless you and your family in Italy. How amazing! I wanted to tell you that I was there when John Paul II died. He is my hero. I will keep you in my prayers. Peace, Carolyne

  4. Just discovered your blog and wow! Love the photos and you have such an interesting story on the About Me page! I hope you wrote about your experiences in China, too, as I've been reading about the Christians there. I can't imagine being Catholic and living under their strict one-child policies. I imagine it would be foolish to even get married in China if you were Catholic given the policies---if you accidentally get pregnant a second time, the govt can either force you to abort or take your baby away. Okay, getting off track here, but I look forward to reading the rest of your blog. You really do have a blessed life!

  5. I just found your blog - thanks to your picture of Papa kissing the baby.
We want to retire in Italy, so naturally I am insanely jealous. Some people might just say insane. Regardless, I am going to follow your posts.

    Blessings,
    Emily

  9. I found your site this morning reading Catholic Exchange while drinking my coffee. My husband is military. We have five kids and move about, but I sadly doubt Rome is on our list of stations. I have found your comments refreshing; very catholic and a little feisty. I can relate. God bless you in your work as a daughter of God, wife, mother, and witness to all His sheep.

  10. Jennie-

As a fellow Catholic-nut, Jesus-lover, aspiring runner, AND current resident Rome, I was so happy that a friend stumbled across your blog. I'm looking forward to reading more and meeting more American Catholics here in Rome.

I had to laugh about your comment about chasing football players... I was after Nebraska Cornhuskers in my day, but now -- by God's grace -- I'm married to an absolutely wonderful, faithful Catholic major in the US Army. We're still trying to figure out parenthood with our 5-week old Isabella.

Have a blessed week. Will you be attending Papa Francecsco's Mass tomorrow? I'm still trying to figure out a morning schedule that will allow me to attend daily Mass here in Trastevere.

    Blessings to you!

    Kristi

  14. I just found your blog today and am loving it. Your post today ("Let's Be Done") was just beautiful. I have never actually wanted to be "done," and in fact am having a struggle right now with trying to have another baby (I have three girls, 5,3,2), but I can definitely relate to the frustration of having lots of littles. And bedtime? Not my favorite part of the day (until it's over) and usually not my best. I just wanted to say Hi, and tell you I really enjoy your writing.
