Thieves and Eucalypt...I came to say the same thing. Thieves and Eucalyptus have a compound that can inhibit respiration in kids under 10--but you can make other anti-germ blends that are safer. The FB Group "Using Essential Oils Safely" is really helpful, and they aren't affiliated with any EO-selling brands. They also don't recommend ingesting oils, even diluted in water, because--as we all know--water and oil don't really mix, and the oils are so concentrated that even the tiny droplets can cause abrasions in your throat over time.Jessica Carneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07636693197301731087noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1669762298855511295.post-50840885145920077292015-02-09T19:13:39.539-07:002015-02-09T19:13:39.539-07:00Love this. I'm not remembering exactly why, but that and anything with eucalyptus shouldn't be used on kids under 10. Not trying to sound preachy, just sharing knowledge as I'm just learning about essential oils! She put some kind of oil (peppermint, maybe? It smelled a little minty and licorace-y) behind my ears and I swear within half an hour I started to feel better. Then I had a sore throat and she gave me another kind and it also helped. She is converting me :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16790444120314654816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1669762298855511295.post-9490788044817493282015-02-08T08:49:54.879-07:002015-02-08T08:49:54.879-07:00Already emailed Stephanie. Because I used to get migraines (as in, I had to leave work early at least once a month, if not once a week) I have a little diffuser in my room and I add lavender to peppermint and diffuse it in my room and it's soooooo soothing. But a combined drop of peppermint and lavender to the temples is great when I don't have time for a lie-down. We use a *lot* of meleluca/tea tree oil mixed with coconut oil as a topical skin ointment for cuts, acne, eczema, etc., too.

Speaking of ears, I was worried a few weeks ago that I was getting my niece's ear infection but a drop of lavender on a q-tip swabbed on the offending ear took care of it wonderfully.

~WillowWritingWillowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10087089064442209724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1669762298855511295.post-77725675117567865522015-02-07T12:22:55.911-07:002015-02-07T12:22:55.911-07:00Lavender can also be used for headache. Steph is friends with my sister, so when my sister had crazy success stories, she shared them with me. Eucalyptus in the kids' bath when they're sick. Tea tree on my monthly PMS pimple. Orange & carrot oil daily with my morning facial moisturizer for anti aging. Those are in my regular, daily repertoire :) I have a cabinet full of EO I use less frequently.
