My five boys are grown up and in their twenties (the oldest is almost 30!!), and I often think how much different it was raising them than it would be now (with all the newfangled inventions like TV's with DVD players built right into the minivans). But living over there, it's as if you've truly stepped back in time and have to do without so many of the conveniences we all take for granted. It's great that instead of letting it get you down, you've let it make you "chiseled" (great adjective, by the way). This post is such a beautiful tribute to the vocation of full-time motherhood!Laura Pearlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16108081477711821273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1669762298855511295.post-89433056588065837332013-07-10T13:15:20.026-06:002013-07-10T13:15:20.026-06:00Great post, Jenny! That is crazy to the nth degree.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03695179104841318390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1669762298855511295.post-49489129357376423252013-07-10T10:06:04.564-06:002013-07-10T10:06:04.564-06:00This is so beautiful Jenny! Thanks! In less than 3 weeks, I won't be moving transatlantically, but I will be uprooting my small family - leaving an AMAZING familial support system - and moving many states away to continue my education. Things are going to be nutty, and many people think that I have lost my mind; and lately I have tended to agree with them. But, I think that this experience - despite and essentially because of the challenges that lie ahead - will lead me to a fuller version of myself as a mother. I also look forward to cultivating my own little family's identity whilst we navigate this new chapter. Thanks so much for sharing and enjoy the Amalfi coast - it looks spectacular!
